5 Things Lash Stylists Want Their Guests To Know

If you’re a lash extension veteran, then your lash stylist has most likely educated you on the best ways to care for your lashes, products you can/cannot use and all the other important do’s and don’t’s that come with having lash extensions. But there are some other important things that lash stylists want YOU, their guests, to know . . .

Be Upfront

Don’t be afraid to share any discomfort or concerns with your stylist during your service. They are there to not only make your lashes look fabulous, but they also want to make sure you have the best lash experience possible. If you have any discomfort or irritation during your service, tell your stylist so she can make you comfortable. Also be sure to reach out to your salon/stylist after your service, if by chance you experience an allergic reaction, redness or simply have a question you forgot to mention before you left. They are the experts after all, so don’t hesitate to share any concerns during or after your service.

Don’t Expect The Same Results As Your Friends

Your stylist will always strive to give you the lash look you desire. However, if your friend has lash extensions with extreme, voluminous fullness and you want the same but your lashes don’t end up looking as full as hers, there’s a reason. Guests who already have a naturally full lash line will end up with an even more extreme, full lash line after having extensions applied. If your natural lash line isn’t as full, then your lash extensions may not have the same fullness as your friend’s lashes. The more natural lash hairs you have, the more extensions can be applied. So to sum it up, your stylist wants you to understand that they will work with the natural hairs YOU have and give you the best results possible, however your lash look and your bff’s lash look may not always look the same….and now you know why.

Keep Chatter to a Minimum

While it’s always fun to catch up with your fav, fabulous lash stylist, too much chatting can make her job more difficult. Why? For one, it’s always very important to be as still as possible during the application process and allow your stylist to focus on the precise technique she needs to master during your service. Second, this needs to be a relaxing experience for you. If you and your stylist chat the entire time, then you may not get to enjoy that amazing lash nap we all love. However, if it’s your stylist that’s doing most of the talking, remember to take headphones to keep the talking to minimum, or like we mentioned in #1, be upfront and kindly tell your stylist you’ve had a long day and that you’d prefer to just relax and not chat too much. She will gladly understand!

Don’t Leave It All Up To Your Stylist

If you don’t do your part and take care of your lashes, then your lash stylist can’t do her job to the fullest. If you don’t clean, comb and care for your lashes properly, then your stylist may not always be able to give you the results you want. They will try of course, but if they have to spend time cleaning and separating dirty lashes, then this means less time getting your lashes back to the look you love. If you have lost a great deal of lashes due to poor care or if you don’t keep up with your 2-3 week refill appointments, then your stylist may recommend a full, new set. So be good to yourself, your lashes and your stylist by taking proper care of your extensions and schedule regular refills. (Pssst . . . Listen To Your Stylist

Remember that the stylists are the experts! They do this every day, for hours a day. Listen to them and any tips or feedback they may give you during your appointment. You make an investment in your lash extensions and your stylists knows it and wants to help you keep that investment looking full and fabulous!
