Lauren has over 24 years of experience in the esthetics industry and we are excited to have her at The Lash Lounge Raleigh ITB. Lauren will be available to perform microblading and permanent makeup in the salon!
Lauren got into skincare when her skin began to show signs of severe sun damage. She was told by her esthetician that the damage she had was permanent and that there was no chance of it healing. Lauren chose not to accept this opinion which led to her journey of discovering how to heal the skin.
She began as a medical esthetician with a well-known plastic surgeon. There she learned about symmetry and what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Lauren loves helping women achieve their goals of having natural looking brows through microblading. After 20+ years in the field of esthetics, she has seen firsthand how full brows are an exception not the rule for most women. Until recently, the only options were to clean around the brow to improve the shape and tinting to darken the existing hair. Lauren loves that with microblading, her clients can now experience the desired result of fuller, natural looking brows!
Microblading is a manual technique of semi-permanent hair strokes that camouflage missing or sparse eyebrows. It is similar to tattooing and is used to create beautiful eyebrows by reconstructing, defining, covering gaps, or filling in over-plucked brows. The technique imbeds pigments into the skin after the creation of fine incisions into the superficial layers of the dermis. The individual, crisp hair strokes result in a very natural look.
Pain during the treatment varies from one individual to another. Some clients compare the pain to what they feel when eyebrows are tweezed.
Microblading is completed in two appointments. The initial appointment lasts up to two hours and involves the actual shaping of the brow.
A follow-up appointment is scheduled four weeks following and will “touch up” any fading that has occurred since the first appointment. After that, yearly touch-ups are recommended. The color is dark during the first 5 to 7 days after the initial procedure. A week later, it loses 40 to 50% of its intensity.
Post-treatment care accounts for 70% of the treatment’s success. Rinsing and applying creams is of utmost importance.
