LED lash extensions use low-powered purple light to drastically speed up the adhesive curing process—from 24–48 hours with traditional lash glue to fewer than 4 seconds with LED light for lash extensions.
UV lash extensions, aka LED eyelash extensions, are semi-permanent extensions applied to your natural lashes using a special eyelash adhesive that cures, or bonds, to your natural lashes instantaneously when exposed to purple light, emitting wavelengths between 395–400 nm, also known as UV-A light.
UV eyelash extensions, you may be thinking: That doesn’t sound good… Don’t worry! Purple light is FDA-approved and classified in Risk Group 0, posing no risk to you or your lash stylist. It’s even safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers!
Purple light does not penetrate your skin, making it even safer than the blue light emitted from your phone or TV. For perspective, to equal the same amount of UV exposure from the sun in one minute, you’d have to stand under our Purple Light for 60 hours nonstop!

Our Purple Light Experience ups the ante for long-lasting lash extensions with eyelash LED light. Why? Traditional eyelash adhesive relies on moisture in the air to fully harden over the course of 1–2 days. That means that external factors temperature and humidity can complicate this drying process, compromising lash retention. That’s part of the reason why (in addition to the natural lash shedding cycle), with traditional lash extensions, you must return every 2 weeks for lash refills.
With light-cured lash extensions, that instant adhesive bond locks your extensions into place in fewer than 4 seconds flat. External factors have no effect on this drying process—which also means no more waiting 8 hours to sweat, sauna or get your lashes wet; you can do so immediately!
It also means you can come in less frequently for lash refills; extend that timeline to up to 3 or 4 weeks thanks to LED lash extensions—the new sweet spot for our busy guests!
Purple Light’s Sensitive Eyelash-Extension Glue for Sensitive Eyes
If you’ve ever received a traditional lash-extension service and experienced dryness, irritation or burning, that was likely due to a cyanoacrylate sensitivity or allergy, one of the main ingredients in eyelash extension glue. This is exacerbated by the 24–48-hour dry time of traditional lash-extension adhesive, which relies on air and moisture to cure. During that process, small amounts of formaldehyde fumes are released, which is what causes the irritation.
Because our Purple-Light UV lash extensions cure immediately with the best lash adhesive offered by any eyelash salon franchise, that fume exposure is almost eliminated completely, making people who were previously not eyelash candidates now eligible for Purple-Light lashes!
