Lash extensions have come a long way, and we’re SO proud to announce that The Lash Lounge is the FIRST lash salon franchise to offer one of the newest innovations you may have been hearing about: LED lash extensions!

Read on while we break down how UV lash extensions work, what LED lash technology actually does for your lashes and how it compares to traditional lash application.

What is The Purple Light Experience?

The Purple Light Experience is our new LED-cured lash extensions service that uses a light-activated adhesive that cures instantly when exposed to the controlled Purple Light.

It’s important to note that this service is not about changing the lashes themselves, but rather enhancing the curing process, which in turns enhances the guest experience!

How Does LED Lash Technology Work?

LED lash extensions, also known as UV lash extensions, use an innovative system made just for lashes. Let’s break down how the technology works and how the traditional method compares.

LED Light Curing Process

A specialized adhesive is used to apply the extensions, and each extension is exposed to a small LED light for 4 seconds that is controlled by the stylist. The adhesive being exposed to the controlled LED light results in an instant cure, which means your lashes are 100% set when you get up from your lash nap!

Traditional Curing Process

Traditional adhesive relies on air, temperature and humidity to cure. Curing time can vary based on the environment, typically taking 24 to 48 hours after your service ends for the adhesive to fully cure.

What Instant Curing Means for Your Lash Experience

Ready to hear all the reasons why LED lash extensions are a total game changer? There are so many we’re not sure we can pick a favorite. 😉

Longer-lasting Lashes

Gone are the days of needing to get a lash refill every 2 weeks! LED lash extensions last 3–4 weeks before you need to come see us for a fill. Yep, you read that right! Up to a MONTH of full, fluffy, perfect lashes.

✨ Perfect for the guest who wants to look on point 24/7.

Less Refill Appointments

If your lashes last longer thanks to the LED lash technology… can you guess what else that means? Less time spent in the salon for appointments, and more time living your life. Guests who opt for the Purple Light Experience have on average 13 less refill appointments a year!

✨ Perfect for the guest who has a busy lifestyle and demanding schedule.

Easier Aftercare

Thought that aftercare for LED lash extensions might be the catch in all of this? Nope! Not only do you longer need a lash sealant thanks to the instant curing of the adhesive, but you can also swim, shower and sweat right after your appointment! No more waiting 8+ hours to get back into your routine.

✨ Perfect for the guest who loves to workout, hit the beach or has an event after their appointment.

Safe for Sensitive Eyes

Since traditional lash adhesives use moisture in the air to fully cure, it can take up to 48 hours to set. This process releases a small amount of formaldehyde fumes, which is responsible for the dry, irritated or red eyes you might have experienced in the past after your lash appointment. With instant curing, the amount of fumes you’re exposed to is greatly reduced… 300x fewer fumes to be exact!

✨ Perfect for the guest who has cyanoacrylate sensitivities, the common cause of eye irritation, redness and dryness

Cyanoacrylate Allergy vs. Sensitivity

If you have a cyanoacrylate allergy (this is different than a sensitivity), this service is not suitable for you, nor is traditional lash application, as the adhesive is not cyanoacrylate free.

Are LED lash extensions safe?

Your health and safety is always our top priority. The Purple Light Experience uses professional LED technology that falls within the FDA’s safest photobiological risk classification: Risk Group 0 (No Known Hazard).

The controlled light exposure used during your appointment is minimal and does not penetrate your skin. In fact, you would need to sit under the Purple Light for approximately 60 hours nonstop to equal the UV exposure of standing outside in the sun for just one minute!

Fun fact: The blue light emitted from your phone is more harmful than the Purple Light used in our system.

And remember, our lash stylists are licensed professionals who have gone through vigorous training in order to be certified to provide our Purple Light Experience! You can trust that you are in safe hands.

The Future of Lash Technology is Here to Stay

Lash extensions have always been about enhancing your natural beauty, but how they’re applied is finally catching up to the way you live. With innovations like the Purple Light Experience, you’re no longer choosing between great results and convenience… you get both.

From longer-lasting wear and fewer appointments to simplified aftercare and a more comfortable experience, LED lash extensions are designed to make lashes work for you—not the other way around.

If you’ve been curious about trying lash extensions or are ready for an upgrade to your current routine, this is your sign. The future of lashes is here—and it’s faster, smarter and made to fit YOUR life. 💜

FAQS

Q: What are UV lash extensions

A: UV lash extensions are applied using a light-activated adhesive that cures instantly under a controlled LED or purple light, rather than air drying like traditional lash glue.

Q: How do UV lash extensions work?

A: A specialized adhesive is applied to each lash extension and then cured instantly using a targeted LED or purple light, creating a fully set bond within seconds.
