3 Real Women, Their Lashes and Simplified Beauty Routines

There’s nothing more exciting and rewarding than seeing photos of our guests with smiles on their faces because they adore their lashes. We also love it when we get messages from these real women sharing how the experience and services at The Lash Lounge has transformed not only their look but also their lives. Today we are thrilled to share 3 of these real women and what they’re saying about their lashes and their new simplified, time saving beauty routines!

Amanda Upadhyaya

What Amanda has to say:

Getting lash extensions from The Lash Lounge last month has made SUCH a huge impact on how fast I can get ready every morning. As the mom of a preschooler, I don’t have much time to spend getting ready before we start our day so it’s so helpful to just be able to throw on some BB cream and head out the door, while still looking completely “put together.” Having lash extensions over the holidays was a game changer, especially since my family and I spent the new year in Park City. Between snow storms and snowball fights with my husband and son, I was one of the only mamas without the wet mascara eyes, makeup stayed intact and my lashes had me still looking fresh and flawless even after being poured down on with snow!

What Sydney (AKA Syd) has to say:

My lash extensions have made my “getting ready” time A LOT quicker! Often, I don’t have to wear mascara at all and when I do, it’s just very little and takes very little time, like 1-2 minutes. It’s nice to not have to invest the time into putting a ton of mascara on yet I  still get the long, full lash look I want!

Grace Liang

What Grace has to say:

I LOVE my lash extensions from The Lash Lounge! They make me feel like a million bucks and I am addicted to them! During my last refill at The Lash Lounge, I chose even longer lash extensions and I can’t believe what a big  difference they make! Ladies, find a Lash Lounge near you and give yourself the opportunity to not only look good, but feel good, too! And if you live in Michigan, you can visit the Bloomfield location (Coming Soon) or the Rochester Hills location!

Best Beauty Looks from the AMA’s (And How You…

If you watched the American Music Awards last week, then you not only saw some impressive performances and fashion statements, but you also saw some flawless makeup and gorgeous lashes. We loved many of the super glamorous looks we saw and we’re sharing some of the best beauty looks from the AMA’s with you, plus how YOU can get the same looks . . . you’re welcome!

Taylor Swift

(image via byrdie.com)

Taylor’s Look:

  • Metallic eye shadow
  • Winged eyeliner
  • Feathery lashes
  • A soft nude lip

Get Her Look:

  • For the eye shadow, we love the sultry shadow palette from Sephora which includes a silver metallic shade like Taylor wore, plus 13 more shades.
  • To get that perfect winged liner look, Maybelline‘s felt-tip liquid eyeliner glides on smooth for precise control.
  • For the lashes, a full set of Volume Lash Extensions will have your lashes looking just like Taylor’s!
  • Then for the lips, NARS Honolulu Honey is the perfect blend of natural beige with a satin finish.

Ciara

Ciara’s Look:

  • Gold, shimmery eyes
  • Lifted lashes
  • Nude glossed lips

Get Her Look:

  • Bobbi Brown’s shimmer wash eye shadow in ‘champagne’ is the perfect shade to highlight and illuminate the eyes like we see on Ciara.
  • Her lashes looked beautifully natural with a lovely lift and curl. You can get this same classic look with a simple Lash Lift Perm which will define and curl your lashes seamlessly in one treatment. (Note: A lash lift perm is not available in New Jersey.)
  • Try Lancome’s L’Absolu Lacquer Gloss in Beige Aura to add the same nude glossy look to your lips.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa’s Look:

  • Nude matte lip
  • Full, flared lashes
  • Arched brows

Get Her Look:

  • To get lips like Vanessa, try this matte lipstick from Ulta by Anastasia Beverly Hills and go for the color, Soft Touch.
  • Recreate her lash look by getting a full set of our Volume Lash Extensions. Volume lashes offer incredible fullness with 2 or more of our lightest lash extensions applied to 1 natural eyelash.
  • To get your brows looking like Vanessa’s, get them threaded. Eyebrow threading is an innovative option for brow shaping and hair removal. It also has many benefits over waxing and plucking and can give you this same sexy arched look.

Jennifer Lopez

(image via byrdie.com)

Jennifer’s Look:

  • Contoured face
  • Super dark, warm smokey eyes
  • Volume lashes

Get Her Look:

  • To conquer this contoured look, try the ‘Step-by-Step Contour Kit’ by Smashbox.
  • Get the same sultry smokey eye with warm tones by using the Makeup Atelier Eye Shadow Palette by Beautylish.
  • A full set of Volume Eyelash Extensions will complete the look and have you looking just as fab as JLo herself!

Dua Lipa

(image via theskincareedit.com)

Dua’s Look:

  • Shades of brown on her lips and eyes
  • Full lashes on the top and bottom
  • Bold brows (that are noticeably a perfect match to her hair color.)

Get Her Look:

  • Brown shades are all the rage this season and you can get this same edgy yet feminine look on your lips with Yves Saint Laurent’s ROUGE PUR COUTURE Lipstick with shade 53 Beige Promenade from Sephora. Continue the brown tones on the eyes by using a bronze shade like MAC’s Charcoal Brown eye shadow.
  • A full lash line on the top AND bottom can be achieved by getting Lash Extensions -and yes, you can even get lash extensions on your lower lid. This will open up your eyes and brighten your face even more than just having lash extensions on the top!
  • For the same bold brow look as Dua, get a simple brow tint. This service is ideal for those who want to darken their brows or simply give them a bolder look. And it also saves you the hassle of filling in your brows – which is a huge time saver! (Note: Lash tinting is available at many Lash Lounge locations, but not in the following states: New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts or California.)

7 Ways to Survive Back to School like a…

It’s that time of year . . . Back to School time! Whether you have one kiddo or six, this time of year can be stressful with all the lists, getting back into routines, new school, entering new grades, the list goes on and on. So today we’re sharing 7 ways to survive back to school like the boss Mom you are!

1. Do Some Prep

A little advance legwork can save a lot of hand-holding during the morning rush. So set your child up for success by readying easy-to-forget essentials (calculator, tissue pack, flash cards, etc.) in the evening. Bag up lunch and put it on a low shelf in the fridge so kids can reach it at go time. (via scholastic.com)

2. Tool Up

Obtain the class supply list and take a special shopping trip with your child. Having the right tools will help him feel prepared. While keeping basic needs in mind, allow for a couple of splurges like a cool notebook or a favorite-colored pen. These simple pleasures make going back to school a lot more fun.

School supply lists also provide great insight into the schoolwork ahead. Get your child excited about upcoming projects by explaining how new supplies might be used. Let him practice using supplies that he’s not used before — such as colored pencils or a protractor — so he will be comfortable using them in class. (via pbs.org)

3. Budget your Back-to-School List

The most important part of school shopping is setting a budget. Even more important is including the kids. Sit down with them, show them how a budget works, and what your plan of attack is. When it comes to the actual shopping part, give them a small budget of their own to buy their wants. The catch is they do the math, and you help them make conscious decisions on quality and usefulness. (via thesurvivalmom.com)

4. Set a Fast Pace

Despite your best efforts, there are going to be days when the kids dawdle. What to do? Play a Beat The Clock game. Pick related tasks (think: brushing hair and teeth and washing hands), set a timer for five minutes, and ask your kid if he can do them all before the buzzer rings. Every time he succeeds, give him a point to be used for a treat. Your reward: a few precious hands-off moments to sip coffee! (via scholastic.com)

5. Make it a Challenge

The surprising secret to developing the behavior you want? Tell your kid you’re unsure he can do the task, whether it’s picking out clothes solo, packing books, or sitting down to breakfast. “Parents sometimes have a misguided view that reasoning with a child is the way to get him to change his behavior,” notes Alan E. Kazdin, Ph.D., director of the Yale Parenting Center. “But if you just say, ‘I don’t think you can get dressed all by yourself. Only big boys can do that,’ kids will often respond, ‘Oh, no, I can!’” Once your little one successfully completes a task, heap praise on him — it’ll encourage a repeat performance. 6. Ease Into The Routine

Switching from a summer to a school schedule can be stressful to everyone in the household. Avoid first-day-of-school mayhem by practicing your routine a few days in advance. Set the alarm clock, go through your morning rituals, and get in the car or to the bus stop on time. Routines help children feel comfortable, and establishing a solid school routine will make the first day of school go much smoother. (via pbs.org)

7. Get An Effortless Beauty Routine for YOU

Mornings are hectic, which is why the less time you spend getting ready in the mornings, the better. But you still want to look great and feel refreshed each morning, so let The Lash Lounge help you with that. Lash Extensions and any of our other fabulous lash and brow services are always a hit with Moms as it helps make their morning routines even easier, especially this time of year.
